Interlibrary Loan!

I got my first ever book from Interlibrary Loan this week! (And a piece of carrot cake. Though it’s not my first piece of carrot cake.)
It’s Shy Radicals by Hamja Ahsan, and it had to be retrieved all the way from Trinity College Library in Hartford, Connecticut! I was very surprised that there were zero copies anywhere in the NYPL system. Based on the condition of the spine, I think I might be the second or so person to check it out.
I hope it’s having a nice visit to NYC.

Ah, these spines can be deceptive.
I hope the Hartford people treat their books well [for example, using bookmarks].
And if it were under a photocopier, say…
There is a box of carrot cake somewhere in my house which I bought on the shopping trip before this one.

They must! It felt like the book had never really been opened very far before…

Probably 20, 30, 40 pages.
I am re-reading my Ash Barty autobiography – MY DREAM TIME
and I got to 6 pages in it.
Conscientiously using the dust jackets which you can do with a first edition/hardback – the left side for the first half of the book – and the right side [the About the Author side] for the second half of the book or when I don’t want to go past it.
And also just received a circular from my local conglomerate of library services.
